Default 2009 Accord EX-L V6 Alloy Rim

Hi, I was told by my dealership and several other dealership parts department that my 17" OEM alloy rim for the V6 is different from those of the EX-L four cylinders. Is that true?

My rim is damaged by a parking attendant and I have been looking for a replacement, but the new one is simply too expensive (466+7% tax).

Thank you for your attention!

Must be if different dealerships are telling you that. Do one of two things (or both) go to a lot and check the stickers on both different cars. Stickers will have the size most likely or look on line. This should not be too difficult to figure out. Also shop on line for that wheel, just Google it. You'll be sure to get hundreds of hits some most likely cheaper than the dealer.

Looks the same to me...

Your EX-L V-6 has #2, 17x7.5 inch size.
The 4-cyl EX-L has the same wheel.
The 4-cyl LX has the #1 steel wheel with plastic wheel covers.
I'm not sure which version Accord has the #3 16-inch wheels??

Starting in 2003, the 4-cyl and V-6 Accords have the same bolting pattern. Even the Civic starting around 2006 has the same bolt pattern.

Besides that, many dealers will swap rims around as an "accessory" purchase when you buy a new car.

nope, it is a different one, the angular 7 spoke. Anyhow, there are 2 specifications I ran into for the rim, 17 x 7.5 and 17.5 x 6.5J, I am even more confused now.... which one does my V6 have!! >.< Thanks

I have never seen a 17.5 inch rim. I bet that's a typo.

thanks for the reply.

Also, I am thinking about changing all my rims to
Alloy Wheel 18" RGR-16D HFP Painted Finish Alloy Wheels

the recommended tire size is 225/45R18 95Y XL, I was wondering since the O. E tire rating for the 17" is 93V, if other speed and load ratings will also suffice for the 18". I am considering Michelin Pilot Sports A/S Plus. Any thoughts and suggestions? Thanks

From 93V to 95Y, you're good.

The "93" is the load rating, and you're going with a higher rating. You don't want to go lower.

The "V" is the speed rating, & Y is a higher-speed rating.

Thank you very much for the information!

Also, one of the dealership said that that optional wheel I posted earlier can be directly use to fit the 235/45R18 tires, which come as OE on accord coupe V6. I was wondering if that is possible since the recommended tire specification for this is 225/45R18? Won't the mismatching tire width cause problems? Thanks!

That's just a bit larger (wider tread & slightly larger overall diameter). Overall diameter is about 1.4% larger, which influences your speedometer & odometer.

"Mismatching" the width would be a big problem if you were getting a couple tires. When you get all 4 the same, it's not the same kind of thing. If that size is available on some version of the Accord, then I bet it won't have a problem rubbing against the fenders or brakes.
