Well, we got the original poster with 15", who never replied back...

And we got vroc with 17" but incomplete size information. Michelin Pilots probably come in several 17" sizes.

hahahaha, sorry guys I didn't forget I just work 12 hr shifts. My exact tire size 215/50r17. I was looking on consumer reports and they recommended the Michelin Primacy MXV4. I like the pricing of the Continental's (that Jason recommended)better, but those couple of people not liking them makes me reconsider.

I found the Primacy for $158 and the Continentals around $130 on tire rack. I'm curious as to why the H rated tire is more expensive than the V rated.

 

I think we have to look at all this in perspective. Those continentals are going to give you a bit of grip more than many A/S tires. But no doubt the michelin mxv4 is also a great tire. The thing you will definitely get from the michelins is better steering response (they are famous for that..no matter which tire). I that worth the extra $150 for a set? it's up to you.
I would personally go with the michelins.

And for VROC, id def support my previous opinion for the michelin pilot sport A/S plus. It honestly is one of the top 3 all season tires right now and you can get it in a size of 225/45/17, which should be about the same as your 215/50/17's, but with a fair amount more rubber on the road=better handling and stability.

If you're talking "the best," I'd go with the michelin pilot sport A/S plus. it's a very high quality, high performance tire made for dry, wet, and some moderate snow.
