Rim pealing problem
2009 Honda accord with stock 18"s up by the lip where the rim meets tire its starting to peel. I guess there’s a plastic coating on them any one else have this problem. Problem for the factory warranty?
Factory warranty.
I had similar problem with a 98 Accord, but way out of warranty. A body shop that has done nice work for me before, said that kind of clear-coat over a polished aluminum surface is really difficult. Try to get Honda to install new wheels under warranty.

On mine, it started where the wheel balancing weights were clamped on. That scratched thru the clearcoat, allowign corrosion to gradually grow underneath the clear.
Scraped it back myself, & painted clear with a little brush-in-a-bottle to sorta keep it under control. It sorta worked, but it wasn't real pretty.
It was already started before we inherited the car. In fact, it was out-of-warranty before we inherited it. If I had the opportunity to do that under warranty, I would certainly have done that.
