anyone have any idea what this sounds like on a 4cyl? whats with the design? just another odd-ball thing to try and pull one over on some poor innocent buyer?

btw the subject line was a joke, catchy huh?

haha only kidding... really though... whats the idea behind this (if there is one)?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-93-94-97-98-02-03-06-HONDA-ACCORD-TWIN-LOOP-MUFFLER_W0QQitemZ300135653490QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item300135653490

that's called a twin-loop or twin-pass style muffler and it's the medium between the high flow/more noise "straight-through" design and the low flow/less noise "chambered" design. its got a little bit of both. the air flow travels twice through the muffler as you can tell from the design. the S2000 comes stock with two of this style muffler. Mugen makes a system using this style muffler called the "Mugen Twin Loop Silencer". i hear it sounds awesome, but it costs about $800-$1000.

i would contact the guy and see if the inside is stainless steel or glasspack. if its the cheap glasspack, which it probably is with that price, it will deteriorate quickly and sound like ass sooner than later. DC makes one too, but i dont know what the insides are made out of. hope this helps.

awesome thanks for the info... i know too well about glasspack material deteriorating. not a good sound (especially on a straight 6 chevy haha).
assuming a similar muffler was made with quality internals, this design will provide performance without the weedeater sound.
