My CD Player (I have the in-dash 6 disc with XM Radio) makes a very high pitched tone when using the CD Player and the volume is loud (30+). It doesn't happen on FM or on XM. It's been that way since new and I'm going to take it in, but I'm just curious if this is normal.It's not your typicalbackround noise you hear in most stereos at high-levels - it's a much higher frequency than that.

 

does it get higher and lower pitched as you speed up or slow down? if so, that's alternator whine. my friend's 98 accord does that too...

 

big 3 upgrade then a ground loop isolator if needed ..... also, check that the grounds are solid from the radio.

 

i dont hear it on mine...
