Stupid question.. Stick shift, how to check fluids..

Maybe they were talking about an AT accord, then?
I can't believe engine oil goes into a manual transmission.. that's kind of funny
Since it takes engine oil, which lucas additive would I use, the one for transmissions or the one for engine oil??

Personally I would use the MTF from Honda, which is an upgrade from the engine oil.....

took the time to photo, upload, link and show you from the Bible.
OK, 93Accord, you owe me. PM me your location, so when I drive thru there you can buy us a pitcher ...
All said , Honda Man Trans Fluid (MTF) has gotta be good.
I said it takes 2.5 qts, by memory, but this corrects my memory which was off by 1/2 qt...
Fluid viscosity ranges
and how to check it...

Changing out all of the fluid from a manual transmission is simple. Just drain and refill, like engine oil. Refilling is a bit of a pain, because the fill hole is low and on the side of the transmission. I filled from the top with a funnel and a long hose that I stuck into the fill hole.
Changing out all of the fluid on an automatic is a bit more complicated, because a lot of fluid stays in the torque converter.

When I change my oil I always pour a fresh quart through to get rid of what is left in the pan or even fill it up with fresh oil and run it awhile and drain it again .. I don't imagine that is necessary and is probably complete overkill for the transmission, right? And there's no filter to worry about?
Looking forward to having the money and space to get some things done on this car..
