Default TCS light and brake light staying on

So, the other day my TCS light came on, and TCS is no longer working. It resets every time I restart the car. I noticed that the brake light on the gauge cluster is staying on. I read that the brake light switch down by the pedal could be the culprit. Is that the case? Does anyone have the part number for it? I did some searching, but I couldn't find how to test the switch(es), or which one it usually is.
Thank you in advance for any help.

the red brake warning light can cause tcs deactivation, as well as check engine lights. what year and trim level?

a bad brake light switch will not cause the red brake warning light to illuminate.

It is an 03 EX v6. I'm sorry, I thought that I already said that

Do you think it could be the e-brake switch, or something more serious?

yes, it could be. if the handbrake was left on it could set a tcs code.

is the red brake light on upon startup?

have you checked the brake fluid level yet?

The brake fluid is way above the min. line...

And yes, there is a brake light upon startup, and it doesn't go off. About 15-20 seconds later the tcs symbol and "TCS" light come on together.

Is your ebrake functioning normally? Is the weather in your area in the freezing temps? Do you leave your e-brake on overnight.

hmm..try disconnecting the connector plugged into the brake master cylinder while the car is off.

then start it up. is the brake warning light off? if so, and the car has never been in an accident, you have to replace the BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER!! isn't that dumb??!

the reason the tcs light is coming on is because of the brake warning light.
have fun!

Yes, the weather has been really cold, but I don't always leave the e-brake on.

Interesting. I'll check it out, hopefully that isn't it....Why the heck can't you replace the sensor? That is retarded.

Just out of curiousity what does it have to do with being in an accident? I don't think it has been in one, but then again I didn't do a carfax on it. If it has been in an accident, what would change?

Thanks for your help

I unplugged the low brake fluid sensor on the resevoir and the brake light went off, so I guess that is what it is.[&o]
