Default Trunk leaks Help please

Hey all we own a 1993 4-door Accord ES we got last March. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem. We didn't notice till the middle of the summer there is a leak into the trunk when it rains. I thought I sealed it around the channel that goes around the trunk, to include the antenna hole to.

Is there some place I'm missing?? Please let me know where to seal it up and possible areas where to look for other leaks. Thanks H-

When I worked at a body shop we would put someone in the trunk with a light and used a hose to find the leaks. It has been a long time but I think the tail light gaskets were a source of leaks in the older Honda’s.

Check the gaskets around the taillamp assemblies.

Got a sunroof? Check the drain hoses - maybe unplugged from where they go through the trunk floor.

If nothing else, climb into the trunk with a flashlight & have someone pour water all around with a garden hose.

hahah, kris beat me to it...

It has been close to twenty years and I can’t believe I still remember all this stuff.

Thanks guys, the tail light were where I thought the water was coming in I did do a caulking but I'm going to pull the tail lights off and re-caulk them with a better gasket caulk I didn't know about the moon roof tube I'll check it out. The water does seem to be accumulating in what looks to be the back half of the rear subframe where the trunk is welded to. I'll do the climb in the trunk thing soon first.

Thanks guys, H-

I am glad you found the leak. Most of the ones I saw at the dealer way back when were from improper collisions repairs.
