Default 97 SE transmission slipping/leaking Help!

I have a 97 Accord SE. Auto transmission. 4 cylinder. 200,000 miles. I just took it into the shop and they said the car is leaking transmission fluid and that the transmission is slipping. They suggested $1800 worth of work. Anyone know if there is anything more reasonable that can be done or something to help the car hang on for a while. Thanks.

is it slipping because it was low on fluid???? where is the leak at ?? when tranny is full does it slip as well ??

if indeed is an internal trany issue .and you are looking to save money . you might want to try your local salvage yard ,,other than that ,, compare prices with different shops for a tranny overhaul,,
