2010 Paint?
Hey guys, I recently had a little mishap in a parking garage in my friend's 2010 Honda Civic EX, and am needing to repaint the front driver side fender. I'm looking to do it myself, somewhat quickly and cost-effectively, and I've never ventured into the painting side of things before. With that said, I have a little knowledge of how to do it, but I'm wondering if anybody knows what the factory uses to paint the car, as I want it to match. I'd like to use 1k single stage paint, but as I've never done so before I'm not sure if it will match the factory paint fine or not. Any tips?
Thanks!
Thanks!

What color is the Civic EX? Also, is it a sedan or coupe?
Honda uses a 3-coat·3-bake (3C·3B) paint finish to give the Civic a deep gloss. They have a chipping primer, intermediate coat, and then a top coat. Pearl paint is slightly different in the coatings.
Honda's Basic Rules for Repairing a Paint Finish:
To repair paint damage, always use the 2-part acrylic urethane paints designated; polish and bake each of the three coats, as in production, to maintain the original film thickness, and to assure the same quality as the original finish.
Essentially, if you DIY with a single stage, etc., it won't be an exact match.
