Default help with my paint job

ok so i got my car during christmas and i have big plans for it
17 And trying to start the beggining of my car business

and the first thing i am trying to address is the paint

at first i hated the color but it's starting to grow on me
i'm thinking of getting it painted and color matching it just a lil darker or just get it black
but until i get the money up for that

i want to know if there is any way i can bring this job back to life(pictures below) or just wait until it's painted

but everytin i look at it the roof is killing me( and some other parts on the doors)

any suggestions will help

I'm sorry but you have zero choice other than having the car completely repainted. The clearcoat has failed and there is no other choice whatsoever. You can spend $300 at a hack joint or $2500+ at a reputable place. As usual, you didn't indicate the year of the car or any other useful information. Live with it or have it repainted. Without more information ( year, model, engine, transmission, etc.), there is no way we can possiblyguess if it is worth the repaint or not.

The $500-$600 paint job will not last very long. I suggest you get it painted and sell it promptly while it looks good.Take the money and invest in another car. Sorry to drop this on you if this is your first car, we've all been there. If the mechanical portion of the car is in top shape then drive it and enjoy it.

BTW- There's nothing you can do other than repaint, sorry.

for 500 or 600 all you are going to be able to get is macco, which is no where close to "nothing special" I was looking into getting my car painted, and for a single color job its at least $1000. and thats with me doing all the primer, dent removal, and wet sanding myself.

It all boils down to what the book says it is worth (being TOTALLY honest), what you paid for it, the shape it is in,and what it would be worth repainted for a quick sale. THAT will determine if it is worth keeping or moving out quickly to look for a newer (better shape) model. Paint in that condition tells me that the previous owners likelydidn't take car of things like oil, transmission fluid, & more. Your Call...........

one other option you have is to find someone who can re-paint just the roof (if that's the only place with a problem) who knows how to blend paint well, it's not going to be perfect but they should be able to do that for around $750.00 and make it look good, then just be sure you wax the car a lot to keep the rest of it in good shape.... Personally, my 81 civic has this same problem and it won't really deduct from the re-sale value of the car because most people looking for a vehicle that is older anticipate the paint being that way, if it's not then the car may be worth an extra 2-3 hundred dollars but not a big change in pricing for good paint on old vehicles.... so your options are: be happy with the car (at least it's not mechanical issues), try a spot paint job and hope for the best, repaint the car and drive it till it dies, pray that someone hits your rear end and it's repairable but requires some painting....

i plan on fixin up the interior but as far as exterior just the paint and a couple minor details
