I was wondering if it was possible to swap from the metal rod to gas powered shocks. Is it? Has anyone ever done this? I was wanting to switch over to hood shocks.

 

I'm sure it's possible. My 95 V6 has the shocks to hold up the hood instead of the metal rod. I might be afraid the hood on the V6 is more reinforced and heavierthan on the 4 cyl. You wouldn't want the shocks to dent out the hood on the corners where the shocks will be pressing up. And forget about going carbon fiber if you have hood shocks

 

I dont know why I didn't think of that (Shocks with Carbon Fiber). Because I am definately going carbon fiber hood and trunk.
