Default hood vents

I am trying to modify the appearance (and function) of my 96 v6. It is a nice car with a new paint, lowered, 18" wheels, complete suspension upgrade, and big brakes. It is the "gold" color (looks more like titanium).
My friend is going to put on one of the carbon fibre look vynyls over the hood. I feel that two small black hood louvres, one on each side, would go well and provide some engine cooling vents. (Simple formula: 10o cooling=10%) HP I"ve been told)
So, any opinions and sources for such vents???

Pop out your 180 degree thermostat and replace it with a 160 degree thermostat and see how much horsepower you have.

You have a freshly painted car and you want to cut the hood up to add riceboy louvers on it, doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

It is your car, why do you care what we think?

You're not getting 10% hp out of engine cooling, I guarantee that. Matter of fact, I'd be shocked if you got any. You can do the hood scoops for the looks or fun of it if you want to but if you're looking for performance gains cutting up the hood is not the solution.

being that your car is a 96 V6, generally rare, hard to find much performance wise. You'd pretty much be better off swapping in a H22 motor but if you want to stick with that V6, try to look for a supercharger that may work. Maybe the comptech supercharger that was made for the J30 motor.. not sure..
