Default How to make my car shine like when new

I tried a product for shine a few weeks ago, and this thing was a cream that when I strated to shine the car it basically left the car looking the same way it was before, The paint on my car has faded after many years, so I want to put back some life in it, what products have you tried that worked well, what's the technique? thank you.

I do not have experience with this except anecdotal evidence...I asked a mechanic the same question about my 1989 Civic and he looked at the car and said that the paint (which was still good) can be buffed and a new clear coat applied and the car will look shiny again. The only problem I had was that the clear coat had worn off leaving the paint bare. I never went ahead and did that as I was planning to sell the car anyway. Hope this helps.

get pics of the paint how it is now. Hard to tell from just a written description.

buy turtle wax rubbing compound (green bottle) and a bottle of Nufinish. Apply the RC and scrub in a circular motion with a bit of pressure, Wipe it off completely and then apply the Nufinish the same way as the rubbing compound. Do a section at a time like driver & pass door, trunk and rear bumper, etc. I did mine by sections and it took me like 4 days but I am in love with the results

any of ADAMS car products are awesome. He has this clay bar that will get all the dirt that is in the paint out immediately, detail spray you name it. When I bought my car a month ago, it had alot of swirl marks in it, i used the clay bar and some other of his products on it and the swirl marks are gone, and the car looks brand new. You should definately try any of his products. It's not that expensive and it works awesome. I don't really like any of the car detailing brands that you can buy in the store because they usually all leave a residue after you use it. His stuff not only smells awesome, but you only need to use it once and it will make a huge difference in the way the car shines. check them out on their website. He's everything you could think of... he also has "how to" videos so you can see what the professionals use and how they use it. Check it out and let me know what you think of it and let me know if you have any questions about his stuff. I'm sure I could help you out with it. Good Luck!

1500 grit wet sanding paper on a D/A finishing off with a 3000 3M color-sanding compound on a foam pad is the best shine. Ask any paint shop.
