Default restoring to new car shine

I really need help I tried everything on my 2000 honda accord I bought it used, at the same time you can tell the previous owner let it go down. It is black I tried rubbing compound to waxing, and yet I still don't know what to do to get that brand new shine to it can any one help??????/

Is the clear coat still on the car?

Not anymore it just look scratched up, you can tell the streak marks from the compound but the wax looks lik it made a layer over the compound mark

98-02 are notorious for a flaky, peeling clear coat. If you get pictures of the specific area we can help you more.

I agree, we need to see the severity of the problem prior to making any recommendations.

RTex should be the "Detailing Moderator" IMO. (In My Opinion)

Depending on how severe the problem is .....if it's just sunfaded and wax build up (Some waxes have a fast flash time depending on temp of vehical when applying that make them hard to remove.) You can try a Product I Found called Jax Wax. I have used it in the past and regardless how long the stuff sits on the car it wipes off easy and leave a real nice shine that last a long time

yeah, do give a true recommendation you have to see what your working with.... do you have any pics?

i have decided to paint my car over, and now I put a fresh coat on it but i still need help in maintaining the shine thanks again for everyone's input and help
