I am an insurance adjuster. Here is the deal. HIS insurance should pay for everything...period. Go ahead and report it to your insurance company anyway. They will probably call his insurance company to make sure they are handling it for you. Have you heard from an insurance adjuster from HIS insurance company yet?
About the paint. They will replace damaged parts with parts of "like kind and quality." That is the practice in the insurance world. So don't get your hopes up on getting brand new parts from Honda. Also, they will blend pain to match. Talk to the body shop and ask them how much extra they'll charge you to repaint the rest of the car. That part will be on you. The shop should agree to it. if not, tell them you'll go to a different shop who will.
Oh yeah...It's always good to get a copy of the police report to have for yourself, but I guarantee the insurance company will probably get one before you do. Also, if the cops are being slow about completing the report, BE PATIENT. If you harrass them to hurry it up they are liable to fill it out totally wrong and possibly even say you are at fault. I have seen this happen a dozen times.

thank you very much 00AccordLX5spd

yea i was on my way to take my SAT and was almost late but while i was there for 5 hours he contacted his insurance and they called my mom(which i didnt know)

she said we'll call ours tomorrow and she thinks their gonna send us to a colision repair center she went to when her envoy got side swiped

thank you for clearing up the parts info

and the paint info

i knew that we would have tpo pay extra for the paint

but if they say no my mom will probably still go with em to color match it cuz it's not that big of a deal to her to go and try to find another place

Oh yeah..I almost forgot. Are they going to get you(or I guess your mom) a rental while your car is in the shop? The reason I said your mom for the rental is rental car companys normally won't rent out a car to anyone under 25. I know it's stupid, but that is just the way it is.If you haven't gotten a rental, you could mention "loss of use compensation." When I work claims, if somebody mentions "loss of use" instead of a rental I flat out cut them a check for however much money an "expected rental bill" would be. For example, if their car was in the shop for 5 days, I would multiply $30(average per day rental cost)by 5 (days) and cut a check for $150. That way I don't have to hassle with setting up a rental and making sure they get it back on time. I guess it also makes me feel better because Ipersonally would rather hitch ridesand have the cash if I were in their shoes. No guarantee that would work, but just a suggestion. Definitely worth a try.
Let me knowif you have any problems with the other company. You know..if you are worried they are trying to screw you around. I can probably help you or your mom in communicating with them if you know what I mean.

yes i understand

thank you very much for your help but my mom has her car and i doubt she wants to go through the hastle of gettin a rental car or tryin to get the money

it'd be nice could prolly use that money towards the new paint job but i doubt she'll do it

if anything major happens i'll let you know

but just one more main question

if we call it in today and put it in the shop tomorrow can you tell by the pictures how long you think it will be in the shop?

because it would be nice to have it back by next weekend but if not owell

guess it's a good thing i have a home football tournament this week at scholl or i wouldnt be able to get to an away game

Once the parts arrive at the shop, by looking at the pictures, they should only take from 3 to 5 days.
If you have them paint the entier car though, itcould take longer than that.
