Default Installing footwell lights help

I have a 2008 Accord 2DR.
Would this be too much hassle? I looked at the instructions for the ones they sell at Honda, and it looked more complicated than I would commit to, although it had a switch and all.
What I was trying to do was buy 2 LED light bars powered by 12V, and connect it so it would only turn on when the doors are open. Would this be still complicated?
And how would I take out the casing under the steering wheel? I was planning to connect the wires down there.
If anyone has any suggestions or corrections, please go ahead. Thank you

Why would you just want them to come on while the doors are open? You know youll want them on some other times... I would run them to a toggle switch located out of sight somewhere... As for removing the panel, I have no idea, just look under there and look for clips, screws, bolts, etc.

lol i havent got much help on this forum yet but its your lucky day xowktiger.

I did this mod with my 2007 toyota camry. I used 12" white Cold cathode Fluorescent ligthing (Computer lights).
Simple mod actually. Just connect your lights to your DOME LIGHT. and you also have a switch on your dome light so you can also turn it on whenever. If you go this route your lights will also dim like your dome light.
