^x2, there is someone on the forum that is doing just that right now and it seems to be turning out nicely, he's having a few issues but it seems to be going ok. LOTS of work though... scroll through some pages on the detailing/interior section, if you can't find it I'll look.
LOL, that someone would be me. It's definately alot more work then most people think it is going to be. As far as the carpet go ahead and buy a new one you'll be glad in the end. I haven't posted any new progress in awhile because the weather has been cold and wet for like the past month. Yesterday it was in the 60's so I worked on it a bit, I got my headliner put in temporarily and my driver seat put in so i can drive it if I have to, but when spring rolls around and it starts to stay warm I am going to redo the majority of my work. painting your interior only works if you prep the hell out of the pieces prior to doing it and if the weather is in the right humidity and temperature. Like some of my pieces, the paint sticks like glue and some of them it scratches right off. Funny thing is the pieces I didn't use adheasion promoter on seem to hold paint better than the ones that I did use it on. But I think I found a new way to change the color of my plastics vinyl and maybe fabric. I am going to try it once i can get my hands on the right stuff but basically I'll be permanently dying my interior rather than covering it up with paint. If it does work the way I hope I will post pictures very soon. But yeah man, there is a LOAD Of work involved in what your wanting to do trust me I am doing it now, Best bet is to not do what I did. Take your pieces out one at a time, finish one piece and put it back, don't strip the entire car at once it will become a nightmare. I wish you luck on your project and if you have any questions lets me know I'll be glad to help out as much as I can.
