thanks. if you take the time to do it right the first time, you save money and time. funny how that works. 
note that my trim paint is also textured. I didn't want a glossy finish or a matte finish or a satin finish, etc. just because it's a car and it gets dirty. Instead, i went with "hammered for plastics". the first coat looked marbled, pretty cool. the second coat filled it in, and the third coat gave it a solid color that was textured.

Wow, that's a really good job. I painted a few of my interior pieces with some spare high temperature paint i used on my calipers. It was 2 or 3 coats each and I didn't use clear coat. Is it too late to do a job like yours? or can i just sand off the paint I used and start over?
