Has anyone polished or painted their own valve cover? I was seriously considering taking mine off and stripping it and then just painting it. I don't really have the means to polish and my car really can't go that long with out a valve cover either. What goes into stripping down the valve cover? I know there are some bolts and rubber fittings that hold them in, are they stubborn to get out? TAS Auto parts has some really nice valve covers but I'm not at that point to pay someone that much to do what I think I can do myself. Another thought would be to buy a valve cover from a junkyard and do it that way, anybody know what a used 5th gen vtec valve cover goes for?
