Got mine done in NY also. Uptown washington heights, paid 110 for the windows and 20 for the windshield visor, threw him 10 bucks tip. I have tinted 5 cars always pay the same.

 

I had mine done yesterday and am super happy with it EXCEPT the windshield. They talked me into that because they said it was clear and NO one ever got caught, as it's illegal, but being CLEAR who could tell? The great advantage is the car doesn't get hot, and with that I said ok, why not? Well the CLEAR is NOT clear and it's slightly tinted. New car. Illegal. Nice on the eyes, but illegal and NOT clear, what to do??? Do I see if I can live with it, or just ask them to take it off? Thanks. What do you think. Clear, not!

 

The front driver side and passenger window tint is illegal as well was the windshield. Both are unsafe glass. If you didn't care about those 2 windows being illegal I don't see why you would care about the windshield. Also if you are unhappy just take it off yourself unless they will do it for free. It just peels off with hot water and soap.
