Really? I would take a W7 or even a W6 over an L7 in a heartbeat.

W6v2 and IDMAX...yummm

The L7 gets very loud, but to me it seems like a one note wonder. I am into SQ, so I am a bit biased.

I would keep the CompVRs

They will be louder and play better in a sealed enclosure. An L7 in a vented box (depending on the tuning frequency) will probably be louder than two sealed CVRs (with the same wattage)

Be careful with the gains on your amp (and try not to use bass boost)

long story short.
I sold my two 12 inch cvr's for 150.
My friend let me borrow his Quantum 1500 watt monoblock amp QSA1500d(i dont have money to buy an amp).
I am unsure i hooked it up right, but it does sound fine. My L7 is dual coil and i wired as is: bridged positive to negative. then the positive and negative to the connectors on the box which leads to the amp. Is this right? im trying to get the most out of this amp.

What happened to your 1200w amp? Don't tell me you included that in the $150 price? If that amp is 1500w RMS you WILL blow that L7. I don't really understand how your wired your coils, it sounds like you have it in series. I would not use that amp unless your going to run another L7.

lol..NO I still have the crossfire amp. im not selling that baby. i thought the L7 would sound better with a monoblock amp so my friend let me borrow his. no its not 1500 watts rms. ratings i believe is like 1x750@ 4 ohms. and L7 is 4 ohms. the guy from the local audio store told me to wire it like this:http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/..._4-ohm_2ch.jpg
but then i came across
this (and according to crutchfield this is the way to wire one subwoofer with a monoblock amp):http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/...4-ohm_mono.jpg

So the amp only supports 4 ohms and not 2ohms? And the L7 is 4 ohms right? So if the amp only supports 4 ohms, you have to wire the sub in series which I think you have. Series is where you wire the negative from the first coil to the positive of the second coil. That will give you a 8ohm load, so your sub will see a bit less than 750w, but will be perfectly fine. A digital amp does not necessarily sound better, they are just much more efficient using less power and producing less heat.

EDIT: I'm sorry I didn't even look at the links, the first link is how your should wire it if your amp does not support a 2 ohm load

Yeah that amp is 2 ohms stable, but 2ohms on that amp will blow your sub. I'm really not all that familiar with amps and have not heard of that amp, so that does not mean it's not good. I would just run it at 8 ohms, your amp will run nice and cold.
