Question '12 SE USB port dead

I recently bought a '12 Accord SE. When I connect my iphone 5 to the USB Port, the phone doesn't see any 5V USB power and the stereo doesn't see the phone. I also tried an ipod 3G with the same results. The adjacent 12v outlet works. Key on or off doesn't matter. Any ideas? Fuse?

it's possible the 2012 doesn't provide charging for a larger device, just data transfer or enough for a thumb drive

As stated, the radio does not even see the phone when plugged in, despite being reportedly compatible. I'm hoping there is a bad fuse somewhere, but suspect something deeper. Before tearing into the center console, I'd like to at least have a wiring diagram, but have been unable to find it online. Does anyone know of a link to one?

Thanks,
SL

There is no fuse solely for the USB port. The USB circuit consist of the port, a USB adapter unit in between the port and the audio unit, and two separate wiring connectors for the wires.

the pin-out for the USB connector will match industry standard so you can start by looking for 5.1VDC on the power pins.
