Default 1997 Accord speaker issues

The speakers in my car have been spotty for while and I was blaming it on my broken radio antennae. But now i put an aftermarket stereo in and no sound comes out when I play a CD. I have this thing you can stick in the wire and if it lights up its live. I tried it at the harness and most of them were working but at the speakers, nothing. So do i have a wiring problem? does that mean I have the joy of rewiring it?

sounds like you have a factory amplifier that is not being properly powered on. all aftermarket radios have two turn on wires. blue/white is remote turn on for amplifiers. blue is power antenna. sounds like you got those two wires switched. try that.

FYI - don't use a test light on audio equipment. use a digital multi meter. test lights look like a short circuit.
