Default 1999 Dealer add-on alarm (Honda brand)

Our used Honda Accord has an alarm installed that, we were told by our local dealership, was a dealer add-on; it is driving us nuts!Say you have the doors closed, and the key is not in the ignition, and you open the door to do something (even start the car) the alarm goes off. If you have the key fob with you that's easier to disarm the alarm but, if you have just the key.........God help you.
Is anyone familiar with this alarm and is there somewhere that I can get a User guide or something about it? Hell I'd even be satisfied with removing it entirely; it's that annoying.

Any help would be appreciated.

Take it to a shop that specializes in alarms and get their opinion if it can be modified/repaired.......or ripped out!

ORIGINAL: 1996Z15

Say you have the doors closed, and the key is not in the ignition, and you open the door to do something (even start the car) the alarm goes off.
Isn't that what it's supposed to do???

If you go to HandA-Accessories.com and navigate through all the stuff to the alarm system, then click instructions, you'll see that it should sit under the steering column and just has a bunch of Y shaped wiring harnesses. If you wanted to remove it all you'd have to do it unplug those harnesses and plug the original harnesses back in.
