Default 2003 Accord LX CD Player.

Hello Everyone, I know the common answer to this question is to just get an aftermarket head unit, howeve that's not what I want to do. I am interested in fixing my cd player. It's not a changer, just a single disc cd player, it skipped for awhile, not a ton, but then one day it just quit on me. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I would like my cd player to work again, without buying a whole new head unit!

you have a few issues. 1: parts availability will be poor. 2: documentation on the parts will be non-existent.

if you are a competent repair technician, you can open the unit on a test bench, inspect all of the small gears and mechanisms, then determine if it is a spindle motor or optical pick-up - which could be cross-referenced with other Panasonic head units on PacParts.com. usually, the optical pick-up (laser) will become dirty or hazy, and replacing it can solve most CD player woes.

Now, another question for you would be, is there any way I can just replace the CD Player portion of my Radio? and If so, where would I get it?

likely, there are panasonic radios with the same guts... and it is theoretically possible to swap transports if you had schematics of both

PacParts has a large selection of aftermarket parts for aftermarket head units.
