Default 2004 HID conversion

(I already posted this in the Appearance forum, but re-posted here as I wasn't sure which forum was best suited to my question) I have a 2004 ex v6 coupe, and was looking to do a HID xenon conversion. I was looking at 8000k bulbs and was wondering if they'd still be brighter than the oem halogen bulbs, also what's the benefit of a slim ballast? And lastly, will the conversion be fine with oem headlights rather than aftermarket projectors?

i guess we could classify this as "visual"

1) having just purchased 8000k HID's, they are INDEED brighter than your halogen bulbs, but not bright enough to have everyone flashing you for having your "brights" on. they are perfect for me and I will be upgrading my brights soon to 10,000k.

2) a slim ballast is beneficial if space is limited under the hood. plain and simple, the smaller the ballast, the easier it is to hide. it does not limit light output or performance.

3) this is debatable. some would argue that projectors limit the glare produced by HID's, but I would disagree, having owned them i can verify that they are not brighter or produce more glare than stock acura/bmw/what have you headlights do. it is basically a personal preference on looks, although some states may have laws stating one way or the other.

they are worth every penny in my opinion. check out ddm-tuning if you have not already picked out a set.
