Default 2004 Honda Accord - Radio pops, static, works occasionally.

Greetings Honda fans!

I have a small problem with my radio...It works occasionally. It's a 2004 Honda accord, and here's a short video I recorded this morning to explain the problem, and I was hoping anyone here had experience or knew how to help out.

Thank you!

WARNING MAY BE A LITTLE LOUD AT FIRST

All I can say is my 2004 did exactly the same thing - only played when it wanted to. It must be problematic?

yes, the 2003 - 2005 models had a head unit that was known for failure issues.

you can replace with aftermarket (and gain modern features), but you need a kit with climate controls.

single zone controls
Metra Part # 99-7864 | Aftermarket Dash kit | Metra Online

digital display for single or dual
Amazon.com: Metra 99-7803G Single/Double DIN Installation Kit with Display for Select 2003-07 Honda Accord Vehicles (Grey): Car Electronics Amazon.com: Metra 99-7803G Single/Double DIN Installation Kit with Display for Select 2003-07 Honda Accord Vehicles (Grey): Car Electronics

for replacement head units, i prefer Alpine or Kenwood.

Thanks! The analog is what I'm looking for. I have read reports that the digital climate controls are not 100% accurate, and do not reach coldest/hottest levels. Thank you!
