Default 2005 accord radio shuts off randomly after installing aftermarket speakers, help?

I have a Honda Accord 2005 LX, it's pretty old with about 200K miles on it, and I recently just replaced my old stock rear speakers and installed some new Kenwood i think about 240 watt, 6 x 9 rear speakers, and after that sometimes my radio would randomly turn off and i would have to turn it back on.I'm not sure what the problem is.

Are my speakers too powerful for my stock radio?

Do I need an amplifier of some sort?

Do i need to replace my stock radio too?

your head unit is probably going into protect. it means the resistance is too low. what is the impedance of the new speakers? chances are you have a short though.

and speakers are not powerful. they are resistors, they do not create power (technically nothing creates power but the alternator, but thats a diiferent topic all together). an amp is always a plus.

yep, more likely when you wired up the new speakers you left a few wire strands too long and they are shorting out. it will be intermittent and when it does the radio output shuts down to protect itself. turn if off and it starts over.

visually, you should not have any exposed copper anywhere. connections should be made with solder and heat shrink or appropriately sized crimp connectors. no twisted wire.

neo is right. speakers are just loads. their power ratings are what they can handle, not what they cause to happen. a stock radio is only good for a few watts anyway so it's impossible to hurt them.
