99 radio code problem

Default 99 radio code problem

Just got a 99 honda ex sedan. The stock radio tells me to enter a code. i have the code, tried entering it, but it does not work. Is the code wrong or is their something else wrong (i.e. fuse?). There is no cd changer, just stock radio. any help would help thanxs

um well if the wrong code is put in too many times, it locks up the stereo. have the vin number for your car ready, and call you local dealership. a good service department will give you the correct code and tell you exactly how to put it in. if they give you an hassle about it, tell them if their shop would like to be considered for any future work on your car, they better do this pro bono.

VIN number will not get your code. The radio serial number on top of the radio will. You can try pulling the radio fuse or disconecting the battery for a couple minutes. This will reset the radio so that you can try the code again.
