Hello again guys,

Recently I have been having issues with my sound system. My speakers sound like they are blown and I want to replace them. The problem is I dont know how or what speakers I need for this car.

Would someone please point me in the right direction as to where to find speakers by model and year as well as a walkthrough on how to replace the front door speakers... I dont see any screws and am assuing that its pop-off but again I am not sure.

The door panels have to come off and 9 out of 10 an adapter will be needed.

 

What kind of adapter are we talking about? This is my first time doing this The speakers look to be 6.5" for the front left door (the blown speaker).

Also what am I looking at for the actual installation? I am not sure how to take the door off. I see no screws for the panel it looks like it pops off but I am not sure.

I believe the front speakers are actually 5 1/4. The replacements all seem to be 6.5. Search or call Crutchfield for specifics on the adapters. As far as the front door panels.......I paid for my installations so I just don't know. Others here do so give them a chance to respond and also search the site for more info. Generally not much goes on here over the weekend.

I'm handy under the hood and I can make a turd car shine like new but radio, speakers, amps.......DUH! I pay the pros and let them deal with it. Here's what I put together with the help of a damn good shop and Visa:

The car doors do call for 5 1/4" speakers but some 6 1/2" speakers will fit depending on depth. You can use a spacer ring to allow for a deeper speaker.
I have JL XR650-CSi mid range speakers in the front doors and the installer used a spacer ring for a good fit. I also replaced the factory tweeters with a pair of 1" silk dome tweeters by Memphis and mounted them on the door panel above and to the right of the door speakers. Wow what a great improvement.
