I see, yeah my roll was big but not huge. So would you say mat is really stronger in this situation?

Absolutely without any doubt. I usually go overboard and lay a box up with 7 or 8 layers and once its cured you can not move it at all unless its near the opening where the baffle goes. Once the baffle is in place the box is very solid. You can stand on it,put a couple hundred pounds on it no flex. I actually have a old box that I used to support a car when I ran out of jack stands. I also dont like epoxy I dont think its nearly as good as old fashioned polyester resin. Maybe certain applications epoxy is prefered but I havnt found any yet. Epoxy is thicker and difficult to wet out cloth or mat with and costs twice as much. You also cant adjust for temperature with epoxy. Your stuck with the cure rate its made for. Polyester fiberglass resin you can add more or less MEKP hardener according to temp or how much time you have. Also epoxy is slick and sometimes its difficult to gelcoat or paint it. Usually the people who like epoxy havnt had a lot of experience with polyester resin or are the ones trying to sell you the epoxy. The only real down side to polyester resin is it stinks like crazy.

Previous project car of mine. I made the air intake out of glass and built a sub box out of glass into the storage compartment. Every bit of work on the car was done by me over several years. Off topic but may be of interest. I also converted the car to a fuel injected V8. Sold it this winter to a movie producer in C.A. He said he wanted to use it in a movie ,we will see. My luck it will make it to a movie and in the scene it will be blown up,that may make me cry.

I just put a old woofer I had into a accord box and hooked it up to my Adcom amp on my home theatre and abused it for 1.5 hours. It did pretty good for a single 10 in a medium sized box. It filled my living room with decent bass. I feel confident any who buys one will be happy. The ebay auction is item number 220454854207.

I don't know I'm petty sold on this new epoxy stuff. There is a boat mfg down here, renaissance marine, and they started using this new epoxy resin. He had a 1/4" plank that was about 8 inches wide and a bit over a foot long that you could stand on and it would barely flex, and I weigh 260.

Try polyester out and I think you'll be quite pleased, besides its half the cost you cant go wrong. My woofer cut out on one box are cut out of the fiberglass itself and are about 1/4 to 3/16 thick. They are like steel,I wouldnt be suprised if they would support 260 + pounds at all. I have to use a carbide cutter and every 5 boxes the cutter is shot. The key is how you laminate, making sure to remove any and all air and using mat. I still get suprised trying out new materials suggested by the people at the supply house or friends. Sometimes I find a cheaper product thats better or easier to work with. Just keep a open mind and try the fiberglass resin sometime.

Kinda worried no ones even watching the boxes on ebay. Makes me wonder if I wasted a whole bunch of time and money. I thought these would sell pretty easy because they are reasonably prices and take up so little room. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_500wt_1486

I think the problem is the demographic that is usually associated with car aduio, your typical idiot teenager. So they're thinking why buy that when I can get a MDF stealth box, not knowing any real sub will blow a panel off one of those crappy ebay boxes. Also a lot of people don't know how much work goes into making a plug, then a mold, then laying everything up. I would maybe take some pictures of the process, without showing any of your secrets, so you can show how much work in involved and why your asking such a "high" price. But what do I know I have the worst luck selling crap on ebay LOL.

Im not so sure, some teens have shocked the hell out of me with thier knowledge. I think its a economy thing, tough to spend 175.00 on a nice speaker when you cant afford to keep gas in your car because you lost your job. But for someone in the market my stealth box is dirt cheap compared to the JL Stealth boxes and the MTX thunderforms. The thunderforms are injected molded polypropelyne which is garbage can plastic and I think they sound cheap. Either way MTX or JL dont make a box for the 1998 to 2002 Accord.

Not so sure about that, I'm only 21 and have never met anyone my age that I felt was very knowledgeable in any field. I have a lot of interests, and what I do with my free time is read and learn about them. Kids my age are just incompetent.

I've never heard either of those boxs, but the two glass boxes I heard sung horribly. They had a nasty buzzing sound, but both did have big wide panels, but I think the whole box was just resonating. Ever since that I have been really turned off by glass boxes. But god knows if they even rolled the glass down, or just laid it down and called it a day.

Also I think most people have absolutely no idea how much work, effort, and even pain goes into working with glass; even if they know the basic process. Especially kids now a days have no appreciation of how much work goes into any type of fabrication. You have no idea how many kids have argued with me about how they can custom mold a double DIN into a 7th gen dash, when just from their questions I can tell they don't know the difference between bondo and wood filler.
