Add NAV to 2000 Accord?

Add NAV to 2000 Accord?
Hey guys.
My cousin is going off to college soon and my aunt was looking to add a NAV system to their 2000 Accord... the original CD player in it is on the fritz so we are probably looking to swap it out for an indash NAV+CD/MP3 player...
Being that I have only ridden in the car once or twice and I don't own one myself, I don't know much about the interior so I'm not sure were to start...
They were looking to spend in the range of $500 which makes me think we are looking at an aftermarket dash mount instead of replacing the CD/Radio
Any advice?
