Default Amplifier Question

I was thinking about getting th Hifonics BX1500D amplifier. Its specs are:

RMS Power @ 4 ohms : 500 Watts x 1

RMS Power @ 2 ohms : 1000 Watts x 1

RMS Power @ 1 ohms : 1500 Watts x 1

I wanted to know if I get that amplifier, do I need to get a new battery or alternator. To start with I will have it wired to 4 ohms for a 10 inch HX2, but eventually I want to get some Resonant Engineering subs and run it at 1 ohm. I am installing a new head unit, but still have factory speakers.

I also wanted to ask if i put in a new head unit, is it possible to keep the cubby with flap that comes underneath the factory stereo.

I forgot to mention that i have a 2000 SE sedan
