Default Car Speakers

After reading Rick's post about his recent installation, I think I'm pretty set with the Alpine type S's. Would it be strongly recommended to get an amp or will I be okay without it for awhile? I think this is the one you were talking about:

If you can swing the amp at the same time do it! The upgraded speakers sound much better than the originals but would sound A LOT better with more power. I should have done it when I had the money, now I regret that I did not.

I appreciate the reply Texas. I think I'm going to take your advice and go ahead and spend the extra couple hundred on the amp. I may even go ahead and get some dynamat while I'm at it. I guess I just needed the reassurance that the extra money is justified by alot better sound.

If you have an aftermarket headunit you could run the speakers off that but I would recommend getting an amp if you have the money. Oh and if your running 4 speakers I would strongly recommend an amp the most I would run off the headunit would be 2. My recommendation would be to get cheaper speakers for the back like the Alpine Type S and run those off the headunit then buy some good component speakers Alpine Type R's arent bad and get an amp to power those.
