Factory amp bypass help
I have been running my current setup now for about 8 years and the subwoofer just stopped working one day. Below is the current build for the system.
2014 EXL (no navi)
Factory HUD
I cut into the FR, FL, RR, RL speaker connections prefactory amp and ran them to a NVX XFLOC4 160W, 4-Channel Line Output Converter from there I ran the line to a RF Fosgate PBR 300X4 that runs to the Polk 6.5 DB series speakers and a pair of DB1001 Tweeters. That all seems to be working fine.
The system had an existing line setup for the factory sub which sat in the middle of the rear speaker assembly. I cut into that at the point of the sub and connected it to a Pac SNI35 Line out converter from there it ran component to my Brutus 1k mono amp then into a L7. This is the piece that has failed.
The amplifier on is confirmed working ( I tested by connecting a device directly through component into the system and it worked fine with my test tone.) However when I ran the test tone through the complete system there was no AC current coming from the line out nor from the stereo wires preceding it. My assumption is that I have blown the output on the factory amp however I am having trouble fixing it. I would assume I can cut into the line for the sub somewhere ahead of the factory amplifier and running it back to my Lineout then into the amp/sub system through there or replace the factory amp but I am unsure of which action to take.
Update 1
I found the diagram for the SW preout + (Brown) and SW preout - (Yellow) on the 24 pin connector for the factory amplifier. I will be testing to see if I can cut in here and run it back to the line out converter to recover the SW signal to the rear of the vehicle. If anyone can confirm this works I would be appreciative I will update later if I dont receive a response here re if it worked out.
Update 2
I Connected the sub preout + and - to the lineout converter then into the amplifier for the sub but no signal is passing through. There is around 40-80 AC amps coming through the line however no signal out from the lineout. Is it necessary to cut in after the factory amp?
