Default Navigation screen + sun light

If I put on my sunglasses whilst driving, I'm not able to see the contents of my navigation screen. Has anybody experienced this issue and what did you do?

I've had this problem in a 2004, 2005 and 2006 Honda accord.

Are your glasses polarized? If they are thats your problem. I have a aftermarket cd player and when i'm wearing mine with the sun its the glasses removing glare but also does weird things when looking at LCD displays

Yes, my glasses are polarized. will try non - polarized glasses just to confirm
I actually bought polarized glasses because the glare was still horrible through the non-polarized glasses. This should be a design requirement for Honda - to make the LCD displays to be readable even with polarized glasses.

it's not just Honda, it's any typical LCD screen or display, even aftermarket.

This happened to me after purchase of a new pair of shades. I really had a heart attack for nearly a day, checked all the connections, everything was fine. I cried about having to take the stupid thing in (again) for an electrical issue. Then, I noticed that looking towards the side through my tinted windows produced rainbow effects and thought "am I on some kind of acid trip?"

Fortunately, my mother knew better - your sunglasses are polarized. You might need to invest in new sunglasses for the car. I don't know of a solution for the navigation screen.
