Default No Factory HeadUnit Illuminations

I have an 2003 honda accord coupe. I just finished installing an aftermarket headunit with the new bottom mount installation kit. Which means the bottom pocket was taken out. Well, everything works great except the illumination on my old factory headunit. For some reasons the lights will not appear and i need to be able to see the climate control at night time. All my other interior lights work fine. What can i do? It really makes it unsafe to drive at night if i am messing and gussing which buttons are which the the factory headunit. I was thinking about buying another harness to hook back into the factory headunit and only connecting the power wire into the new(working harness)...

I NEED HELP

I'm assuming that you removed your stock headunit? Or did you just install an aftermarket one below the stock one?

Wow, i solved the problem. thanks anyway sir_nasty. No i installed another hu under the factory hu. What i did wrong was i forget to attach the male connection back into the factory hu, which allowed illumination back to the factory hu.

solved the prob myself.

thanks everybody
