Wow, thanks a lot falkore, I really appreciated that! One more question though: for that resistor I might need on the parking light to relay wire, what size do you think it should be?

Also, the 100Ω resistor per 5 LEDs is just what the LED array calc spit out at me for the specs I listed in the email.

190 Ohms would allow 1W @13.8V, so I think that would be good. First you need to find out what the internal resistance of the relay is. The one's I've used, I never really bothered to figure out the switch load, but after running these calcs, I probably will in the future.

Before you build the LED array on your own, you should check out what oznium has to offer. It might save you a ton of tedius soldering! I plan on using a few of their products in the near future. I already have their full 3rd brakelight for my car waiting to be installed.

Yeah I looked there and they just don't have anything to fit. Their largest thin LED strip is 12" long and I need about 23". Plus, I don't mind soldering at all and I'd rather do it myself anyways. I was looking closer at the amber strip yesterday and I didn't know it was already lit. Maybe what I'll do it fab up an aluminum or stainless steel strip to replace the amber one with holes drilled in it...

You must not have looked in the right place. You can get them 6 feet long if you want.

You can cut them to the size that you need. They are also waterproof.
