Default radio research

so i have looked around at a bunch of places and have found out that it is the factory radio unit itself that is causing this. the actual radio where the harness plugs in. apparently some people know how to fix it because they are "selling" it on ebay if you ship them the radio they will fix it... I was curious if anyone on here actually knows how to fix it... I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!!

on the inside of the factory radio itself, there is a component that fails which causes the screen to go blank and the courtsey lights to not go on... people on ebay will take your head unit and fix it for you, or you can get a new unit from honda... i was just wondering is anyone knew exactly what needs to be fixed on the inside of the factory unit....

if you feel comfortable dis-assembling your radio I'd assume it's just a bulb but you'd have to remove the casing and take the whole thing apart to fix it.... I don't know which component is the culprit but if you can take it apart I'm sure you could figure it out with a multi-meter

I hate caps lock.... *L* anyway, didn't realize you were electronically educated since most people aren't... I haven't done this repair personally but if you do it please let us know how it's done/what it is. Thanks

Yeah I definitely will post anything I find... I won't get to it for a week or so because I am moving to NJ from Boston so I will be busy.
