rca cable confusion

yes that's true, I should probly test to make sure the output will work like that. Maybe itll say something in the owners manual... Do you know any other ways of accomplishing what im trying to do?? Lol

ok so i read through the manual and figured it out (i think)... there is button you push that puts the amp into 2-channel mode, and when in 2 cannel mode, it only requires the input of RCA cables to the front channel ONLY! now that i have that figured out, im thinking of 2 type r's, or maybe JL's (i heard them in my fiends car and loved the SQ)?? I have 1 infinity kappa 12" right now and am looking to upgrade... (i think you mentioned it wasnt a good sub t00fatt lol) My amp is rated a total of 542 rms on the birth sheet. Any suggestions??

Lol is this the new amp you bought, that I said you should get a mono block so you can upgrade easily later? Running a single type r off 500w instead of two will be louder and sound better.

my friend offered me a deal I couldn't refuse for this 4 channel with almost 550 rms so I thought I could make do running it in 2 channel mode and using it to power 2 subs. Since I'm running it as a 2 channel now I need to have 2 subs as you cant make it a mono to run one sub. So with about 275 rms x 2 at 4 ohm what 2 subs are a good choice?? I suppose getting another kappa is not a good choice lol

Well you can wire a single dual voice coil sub to that amp. I don't think the type-rs are DVC, and not sure about the JLs either. I'll check for you.

The type-r is a DVC, and the JL w3 is not. A type-r is not a bad choice, it's not the loudest but is very crisp and clean. So you can run a single type-r off that amp, you just have to wire on coil to each side. Since your already running a single input there is no problem with doing that. The problem comes when the two diffrent inputs vary.
