Default Select for me a $600 stereo system

Hello, first post and as of last week,Iwas given asecond hand 1995 Accord EX (loaded) with 120K.I am happy, it runs great, nomechanical problems, the paints peeling a bit. But, first things first, I need toupgrade the stock stereo system. If you had $600 what would you recommend as a stereo replacement (receiver, speakers, amp, wires?).I will do the work myself. I would like a single CD player with AM/FM stereo.I listen to Nickelback, Metallica, etc.

What would you suggest?

It mainly depends on how accustomed you are to high or low quality speakers. If you dont really know to much, I would say get a $150ish deck, then get some mid quality speakers and a mid quality amp.

Eck. Thats cutting it pretty close with $600.

At that price range, everything is going to be pretty close to each other.

Go to Crutchfield.com and look around. Everything they have is major name brands so theyll all be decent quality. Pick out the stuff you want and comes in under your budget and youll be good to go.

I'd go with a set of Fosgate Component speakers, ($150-$200), Kenwood Excelon deck ($200), and a second hand amp/sub/box, That would be a decent system to build on to later but good enough for now. Leave the rear speakers stock, a decent sub and fosgate speakers will make it sound a lot better
