I've just replaced the rear speakers with Pioneers and am using the stock deck. The sound difference is unbelievable...and they are just Pioneer speakers. Alpines would probably blowy your mind away.

I went with Kicker speakers due to their high sensitivity and reasonable price. The tweets in the dash remain stock as does the head unit. Also dynamat was placed across the rear shelf and in the front doors. There was an immediate improvement in sound but it's worthy to note that it wasn't what I expected until they were broken in. After a few hours of Stevie Ray they started to loosen up and sound much better. More power sure won't hurt but that's not in the immediate future.

I run the factory head with Alpine 6x9s and Rockford Fausgate powers in the front connected via Rockford Fausgate 450.4 amp, the quality and volume are plenty good for me until I can upgrade to a second amp, sub and after market a/v head.
