first of all, this has nothing to do with the original topic
second, you would only get power when the trunk lid was open
third, one wire has to have constant power (the one you attach directly to the battery) and the other to a remote wire. i'm not sure whether you wanted to to use the trunk light as a constant or remote, but either way it would fail
