i'd definatley go with a new head unit. Get the replacement pocket dash kit, that way you can just add another unit. If you have doubts on how it will look, let me know and i'll take a picture of my head unit. I also have a 2005 black on black accord coupe v6, and i have my factory radio still in the car and i'm currentlt using it as an XM tuner. All u need is a radio with an aux input and u can take that line out converter you used in the trunk to convert you spkr output(from the factory head unit) and run it unto the aftermarket decks aux input at a low level. badda bing badda boom, now you have a reason to keep that factory radio in the car other than "well it has to stay n there for the ac/heat to work". Now it can be your XM tuner and u dont even have to mess with runnin a new antenna... i know i know, i'm a genious.

if u need a radio with an aux input, i have my old one on ebay... i just ran into a really nice Kenwood excelon so i decided to swap out
