went to the store today, came back out few minutes later to find a huge bird poo splatter on the hood baked in the sun. i cleaned it up the best as i could but at certain angles in the light, you can see the etching of the bird poo.

what's a good compound by-hand to remove the etching? i was looking at meguairs ultimate compound. the bird poo didnt eat through deep as the paint isnt damage. just the etching on the clear coat. the area is smooth the touch.

edit: got the meguairs ultimate compound and it worked like a charm. took several applications but now it looks like nothing ever happened. good stuff!!
