Bird droppings, how often to remove?
Hi,
I park my car outside and every day find a couple of bird drppings on it . I usually clean upthe droppings as soon as I see them, but just wondering how bad is the stuff.
I do wax my car twice a year (have been using Banana Wax Laterly), and wash the car every 2 weeks using Meguierres Gold Classic. Do you think this is enough to protect against the droppings if I were tolet them sit on the car in between washes?

RE: Bird droppings, how often to remove?
Do not let them sit at all because they are acidic and will etch the clearcoat. Use some type of spray detailer to wipe them off, never a dry towel. Wax (with the exception of the Collinite brand) is good for 4-6 weeks MAX so @ twice a year you're not doing a lot to help the situation. Either wax monthly or switch over to a good sealant which will generally last 4-6 months depending on weather conditions.

Just carry some Quick Detailer or similar and remove right away. It will etch into the paint before you know it and then you'll be using elbow and scratch-x to try and get it out. Same with lovebugs or any type of bug. Too much acid in the matter and it will eat though the coats of paint all the way to the base, but will be as visible as being up top.
