Default Polymer as a wax substitute

I use a professional grade polymer called TEC578/28 Lightening Poly-Seal. Stuff works great and is easy to use. Wipes on quickly (it's liquid) and wipes off easily with a microfiber rag. Then I hit all the edges/margins with a spray bottle of water and a clean, soft toothbrush to make sure no residue is visible. This polymer is a great wax substitute and protects the paint from stains such as sap and bird droppings. I apply it annually.

I use Adams products. Google Adams Polishes. Best stuff I've found.

I've used Zymol products for years and love the results I get. I'm new, but I'll try to get a pic of my 2003 Accord up in the galleries so you can see it post-wash and wax.

That said, I have a family member with a hand-restored 1965 Corvette, and he will only let Meguiars touch his baby.

As an aside, a few years ago, a friend borrowed my car and parked it under a sap tree during sap season... And I was out of the country for a while. She had tried to get it off as best as she could (and did a pretty good job- she felt terrible about it), but I've got four quarter-size spots that I think are baked into the clear-coat at this point... Sigh... And it's got it's fair share of door dings, so when I do post the photo, please be kind.

That's ok Derek, my car is much worse im sure your car isn't as bad as you think...after my new bumper and spoiler I still have 3 major dents to fix (not from me) I also used turtle wax's black box, not a bad job...a little messy though.

Here are some pics after applying the polymer. For super-high resolution pics, here's a link to Flickr- 2012 Honda Accord - a set on Flickr
