buying a cat back exhaust system. thats just what i think.

But seriously, depends on the finish. Usually you can use windex. or some soap and water

Meguiar Chrome polish has worked awesome for me in the past and I continue to use it to this day. Give that a try and see what it does.....

Eagle One also makes a great metal polish. I forget what its called (sorry) but it is in a silver round can w/ black writing on it. Its about $4 and inside it a weird wool type stuff...its off but works really well. There also a product called HogSpit or something like that...both are at Wal-Mart +Advance Auto

If you have a stainless tip, use metal polish at first (I like the blue cream kind, not sure who makes it..... been so long since I had to buy more). Make sure that the polish that you use leaves a silicone finish. Afterwards, you can simply spray with window cleaner and the soot will wipe right off.

Yes they are good for both finishs..i think the blue cream is put out by Blue Correl, that is what i use on all metals...

theres some GREAT stuff at your local harley dealer, forget the name and don't have it right in front of me at this second...its a powder and you take a tiny bowl of water, dab the included cloth in the water, dab in to the powder and start rubbing...it removes ANYTHING on metal...soot or otherwise....I use it on my harleys pipes all the time to combat the blue/yellowing that happens (I have Vance and Hines straight shots which are offsett from each other and the top pipe gets yellowed) and it cleans it right off.

the paste is from Blue Coral but forget the name of it and the wool type stuff is called Nevr Dull but is some work to use as it leaves a residue so you have to be sure t wash that off after use.

some steel wool (fine or super fine if you can get ahold of it) works great also....just be sure your pipes are cooled down before starting in on them
