Default Upgrade 1987 Accord

I have aquired a 1987 Accord w/158,000-12 valve motor. I am looking to upgrade when this one is worn-out, has anyone upgraded to a more recent motor? What about the more current 4-cylinders is this a straight-in conversion? Thanks!!

Well, I believe those Accord are OBD-0, so they would need to be converted to OBDI or OBDII to work with a fuel injected motor. You would also need the engine harness and the computer, along with (probably custom) engine mounts. It would likely be expensive and a huge wiring mess, but possible. Custom Hasport mounts would probably start at $750-$1000.

I have seen was it a b18 88 accord maybe, i think b series swap in fairly easy, but you won't find a write up on it.

Its something you gotta explore and figure out on your own.

Iv seen it done with a b16...but I have always wanted to get an older hatch and do a f22a swap. It will take a good bit of custom work. It would be a nice power to weight ratio in the end even with a stock engine. Talk about a sleeper...no1 will expect a built hatch accord. Try searching google for 2nd gen accord sites. I know they are out there.
